The newest novel in the Hunger Games world by author Suzanne Collins is finally here!
A decade after the hugely successful Hunger Games Trilogy took the world by storm, the author has released “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” on 5/19/2020. This prequel to the original Hunger Games Trilogy takes place in the capitol during the tenth annual hunger games and brings readers back into the dangerous world of the arena. This time, the story follows Coroniolanus Snow, a mentor for one of this year’s tributes. Hailing from District 12, his tribute is an underdog to say the least. She is a young girl and her chances of winning are almost non-existent. Snow will need to muster his courage and all of his talents if he is going to help this girl win.
Saying that I am excited about the release of this book would be the understatement of the year! I loved the original series as Suzanne Collins really transports the reader into the dystopian world of Panem. Her world building is transformational and all encompassing. So if you’re looking to escape for a while, this book may be a good option.
I’ve preordered my copy, so I will be diving into this one as soon as it arrives! Happy Book Birthday to “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.”
Happy Reading!
I’m excited too!
