Book: “A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire” by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Genre: New Adult/Fantasy/Romance
Publication Date: 09/01/2020
So for the last two weeks, “From Blood and Ash” by Jennifer Armentrout has completely taken over my life. This book was the perfect mix of Fantasy and Romance featuring new adult characters. After finishing the book yesterday, I am hungrily starting the next installment. I’m not sure at this point if the Blood and Ash Series is going to be a duology or trilogy. To be honest, I don’t want to look up too much information because I don’t want to see any spoilers! Throughout the first book, I found myself pleasantly surprised by the book’s ability to create an emotional response within me as a reader. I worried for the protagonist, cheered for her and was downright scared when her situation looked bleak!
It has been such a long time since I have read a book where I felt truly invested in the story and devoured such a large novel in such a short amount of time. Usually, I tend to gravitate towards novels that clock in between 300-400 pages. However, both of these books are over 600 pages. Needless to say, this is a large time commitment that I have no problem making. I’ve grown so attached to the characters and I can’t wait to see what happens in book two!
Happy Reading!
