In this time of social distancing, I have been burning through books quicker than I can get them! I didn’t have the patience to wait for some additional book mail, so I picked up “Untamed” in an audiobook format from my local library.
The book is the new memoir by Glennon Doyle released on March 10th 2020. She had previously written the New York Times Bestseller, “Love Warrior” so I am hopeful that this book will be just as good. I have started it today and although I am only a few chapters in, it has already gripped my heart.
It seems as though the format of this memoir is going to be a collection of short anecdotes with one similar theme, how to be one’s true and authentic self. In this version of the audiobook, the author herself is narrating. This really enhances the delivery of the work because you can hear the emotion and meaning behind the story. Within a few short chapters, the author has already discussed things like her failed marriage, an eating disorder, children and global warming. She takes all of these unrelated concepts and is managing to weave them together into the singular fabric of a great autobiography. With undertones of feminism, self love and individuality this book is sure to be another best seller!
With that being said, it is time for me to get back to reading! I’ll be sure to post a full review once I have finished the book!
PS: Aren’t the colors on the cover of “Untamed” simply gorgeous?
