Bonjour Bakery is half bakery and half French bistro with an awe inspiring dessert menu. Located in the West Kendall area of Miami, this local spot has attracted a set of dedicated followers that swear by their sweet treats!
The spot doesn’t look like much from the outside. It is housed in a traditional strip mall like building. However, the vintage style robin’s egg blue bicycle let’s visitors know… here’s the patisserie you’ve been looking for!
The décor inside is much the same, fairly plain and lined with small bistro tables. The biggest design feature is the restaurant long dessert case! With a range of pastries like that, what other décor could you possibly need?
This spot offers a full breakfast/brunch menu, a full coffee bar and obviously desserts galore! When I visited, I ordered a standard latte which came with an adorable flower as latte art on top of my cup!
I also ordered some food and desserts to try. I enjoyed the French toast but didn’t find it to be anything special. The desserts however… that was a completely different story! I brought home a few different desserts and I enjoyed them all!
Overall, I had a good experience at Bonjour Bakery. The service was good but could have been better. I’ve also heard that it gets extremely busy on weekends, but most brunch places do. Since that first time, I’ve been back a few times to pick up coffee and sweets to go only. However, during the week when the bistro is quieter I could see myself sitting down to a small lunch here and getting lost in a good book.
Recommendations: Pick up a few desserts to go, you won’t be disappointed by anything you choose! The desserts called “The Royal” and the “Tiger Eye” are delicious! They also offer a full espresso menu, so be sure to grab a handcrafted latte while you’re there.
